Power Outage Affects Industrial Park

Hingham- A Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant underground electrical cable failed on Wednesday, January 4 causing a 1 hour outage to the South Shore Industrial Park. The cable which runs under Route 3 was removed from service and the additional circuits, both underground and overhead, across Route 3 were able to supply the Industrial Park with the required electricity. The cause of the failure has not been determined. An evaluation of the options to replace the failed cable is being worked on by the Hingham Light Engineering group.
