2023 RodE&O Conference & Expo
The rodeo is designed to enhance skills and job knowledge, foster stronger working relationships, encourage teamwork, and provide a better understanding of utility work for families and other attendees. The event is scheduled to take place from May 9, 2023 at 7:30 am – May 11, 2023 at 11:15 am EDT.
Demand Management and Electrification Policy
On June 1, 2022, the Light Board approved a policy to identify strategies, incentives, and resources that will address demand curve fluctuations, electrification trends, and rate stability for customers.
Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant Installs FLO EV Chargers
Hingham Municipal Lighting Plant (HMLP) announced it has installed EV charging stations from FLO, a leading North American EV charging network operator and smart charging solutions provider. The collaboration will bring charging solutions to the historic town of nearly 25,000, thanks to a state grant.

EV Charging Stations Installed Around Town, With More To Come

HEIRP Community Open House
On October 12, 2022 from 7 PM to 9 PM, HMLP is holding a community-wide, virtual open house on Zoom to seek feedback from residents and businesses in Hingham and Weymouth about the planned Hingham Electrical Infrastructure Reliability Project (HEIRP).
Feedback Sought on Underground Transmission Line Proposal
Hingham’s municipal electric company is holding a public virtual meeting on Oct. 12 to get feedback from Hingham and Weymouth residents about a proposed project in both towns that is desired to make electric service in Hingham more reliable.
Hingham Light Plant Crew Assisting in Florida in Aftermath of Devastating Hurricane
Three Hingham Municipal Light Plant workers — including a supervisor — are in Bartow, Florida, helping to restore power to that hard-hit community following the devastation wreaked by Hurricane Ian.
Hingham Light’s Virtual Solar Tour
Hingham Light is hosting a virtual solar tour as a part of the National Solar Tour and South Shore Solar Tour! From October to January, you can view photos of HMLP’s large rooftop solar array and battery system online!
HMLP Triples Heat Pump Incentives

Climate Action Plan Public Meeting
The first public meeting of the Climate Action Planning Committee to discuss Hingham’s Climate Action Plan is on June 15, 2022, at 7:00 PM. All residents of Hingham are invited to come to this meeting and share their input with the committee. Make your voice heard in the climate action plan!
