Commercial Rates
Small General Service (G-1)
This rate is applicable to the entire service requirement for electricity at a single metering location of any customer subject to the provisions of this section. A customer will be served under this rate if the customer’s average monthly usage does not exceed 10,000 kWh. A customer may be transferred from this rate if the customer’s 12-month average monthly usage for 3 consecutive months is greater than 10,000 kWh/month, or greater than 500 kW of demand.

Energy Charge
The Energy Charge is based on HMLP’s average monthly cost of energy and may be increased or decreased and may be adjusted in accordance with the HMLP’s Standard Energy Charge.
Discount
A discount of approximately 10% will be applied to bills paid on or before the 15th of the month following the billing date, providing all previous and current bills have been paid. No bill shall be reduced less than the monthly minimum charge with the applied discount. The Energy Charge, PANSY Credit, PCA and Sales tax will not be discounted.
Customer Charge
This is the minimum fixed charge for every rate payer to help with the distribution costs of providing electricity.
Power Cost Adjustment (PCA)
The PCA is a variable component of the rate that is used to account for unforseen costs.
Deposit
If the Customer does not own the property, HMLP requires a security deposit that is equal to 3X the highest bill in the prior 12-month timeframe. The deposit is kept until service is terminated and at that time the final bill will be deducted from the deposit and you will be billed/refunded for the remainder. The deposit serves as collateral security for the performance of the terms of the Agreement, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, and M.G.L. c. 164, sec 58 A.
General Service Demand (G-2)
This rate is applicable to the entire service requirement for electricity at a single metering location of any customer subject to the provisions of this section. A customer will be served under this rate if the customer’s average monthly usage exceeds 10,000 kWh, but average monthly billing demand does not exceed 500 kW. A customer may be transferred from this rate if the customer’s 12-month average monthly usage for 3 consecutive months is (a) less than 8,000 kWh/month, or (b) greater than 500 kW of demand.

General Service Heating Commercial (GH C)
This rate is for customers receiving electricity through a single meter, provided that permanently connected electric resistive heating equipment is installed and no other fossil fuel source of comfort heating is utilized. This rate is not available to industrial customers. This rate is no longer available to new commercial customers.

Farm Rate (G-1B)
This rate is available for single phase service to farm customers for general farm and home uses, including incidental appliances, refrigeration, cooking, and power for motors.

Large General Service (G-3)
This rate is available for all purposes where service is delivered at a given location and will be billed under this rate. A customer will begin service under this rate if HMLP estimates that its average use will exceed 500 kW of Demand per month. A customer may be transferred from this rate at their request if the customer’s 12-month monthly demand is less than 480 kW per month for 3 consecutive months. Suitable transforming, controlling and regulating apparatus, acceptable to and approved by HMLP shall be provided at the expense of the customer.

Demand
The demand for each month under ordinary load conditions will be the greatest of the following:
- a. The greatest 15 minute peak occurring during such month as measured in kilowatts.
- b. 80% of the greatest 15 minute peak occurring during such month as measured in kilovolt-amperes.
- c. 480 kilowatts
Terms of Service
Transformer Ownership Credit
If the customer owns and maintains the transformer(s) and associated equipment (other than metering), a monthly credit of $0.10 per kW of billing demand will be applied to the monthly bill.
